Green Infrastructure and Wildlife Habitat Tour
Come check out the newly installed rainwater harvesting features, burrowing owl habitat, and bat houses along the Playa Drain Trail segment of the Paso del Norte Trail!
We partnered with High Desert Native Plants, Quantum Engineering Consultants, and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to host a series of bilingual neighborhood planning meetings, educational workshops, and volunteer workdays to install bioswales, curb cuts, and native and desert-adapted plants. For more information on water harvesting, also known as green infrastructure, check out the Water Harvesting page on our website.
The map below shows a 10 km bike or run tour as well as a 5 km walk, run, or bike tour of the green infrastructure and wildlife habitat installations.
