Playa Drain Trail Users Say Boo to Cancer

Thanks to a cancer prevention themed event on Saturday, October 26, 2019, Playa Drain Trail users said boo to cancer. This health fair was organized by "Pasos Para Prevenir Cancer", a community-based education and outreach program which works to prevent obesity-related cancer through increased physical activity and improved nutrition, Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas, and the Paso del Norte Trail.

During this event attendees learned:
-How to build healthy meals with Choose My Plate -How to substitute ingredients in common dishes -How much sugar is in popular beverages -How cycling can benefit their health -How water is so important to our health -About cancer screening services -How to calculate their BMI and the importance of physical activity
Attendees were encouraged to attend dressed up as their favorite characters to trick-or-treat at each table.
